Here are the health benefits of a few of the key ingredients in our Bazinga Bites! All of the products we use are non-GMO, peanut-free, gluten-free, and contain a lot of nutrients, protein, with healthy carbs, fats, and fibers.
Oats, a type of cereal grain from the Poaceae grass family, offer an array of health advantages. They’re a gluten-free whole grain AND a great source of essential vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidant plant compounds. The primary type of soluble fiber in oats is beta-glucan, which has been researched to reduce LDL and total cholesterol levels, reduce blood sugar and insulin response, increase the feeling of fullness, and increase the growth of good bacteria in the digestive tract. Oats are viewed to be one of the healthiest grains on the planet!
Almond butter, made from almonds - the seeds of the Prunus dulcis tree, is full of health benefits! Almonds have a wide range of nutrients such as vitamin B6, which aids the production of neurotransmitter chemicals that improve communication between brain cells, and vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps prevent diabetes, obesity, and certain cancers. Almonds also contain tons of omega-3 fatty acids, which help to delay age-related brain decline and act as antioxidants in the brain to reduce inflammation. Overall, almond butter seems to be one of the healthiest butter out there!
Honey acts as a natural sugar that sweetens our product in a healthy, organic way. This natural sweetener is filled with antioxidants including organic acids and phenolic compounds. Antioxidants have been linked to a reduced risk of heart attacks, strokes, and some types of cancer. They may also promote eye health. Honey is viewed to be a better alternative to a standard processed sugar!
Maple Syrup works alongside the honey in our recipe to organically sweeten our bites. Every spoonful of Maple Syrup offers crucial nutrients such as riboflavin, zinc, magnesium, calcium, and even potassium. This syrup also contains a high concentration of minerals and antioxidants that are essential for your body’s health.
Chia seeds are tiny black seeds from the plant Salvia hispanica, commonly used by the Aztecs and Mayans hundreds of years ago. They prized them for their ability to provide sustainable energy - “chia” is the ancient Mayan word for “strength!” Chia seeds are high in quality protein, fiber, antioxidants, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and omega-3 fatty acids. Because of its high soluble fiber content, chia seeds can absorb up to 10-12 times their weight in water, becoming gel-like and expanding in your stomach. This should increase fullness, slow absorption of your food, and help you automatically eat fewer calories!
Flax seeds have been grown since the beginning of civilization, making them one of the oldest crops! They contain large amounts of omega-3 fatty acids, lignans, and fiber. Lignans hold powerful antioxidant and estrogen properties that may help in preventing breast and prostate cancer, as well as other types of cancer. Flax seeds are a good source of plant-based protein and can be an alternative source of protein for people who do not eat meat.
